You Are Stiff-Arming The Moratorium!

Your Work Has Made A Huge Difference
Hold Off on Phone Calls, Emails and Faxes For Now
Together, We Are Succeeding!
Because of your hard work calling, emailing and faxing our state senators, you are successfully holding off the vote on a moratorium.  If you remember, the state senate was supposed to vote on these bills nearly two weeks ago.  However, there has been such an overwhelming response from landowners like you, our state legislators had to take notice.  There is no vote planned for these bills today or Monday and they have asked that we hold off on the phone calls, emails and faxes for now.  Our diligence combined with the efforts of fellow NY coalitions, has made a huge difference.  Great Work!  We will contact you immediately if there is additional political action we need to take on these bills.
A War Is Yet To Be Fought.
We have certainly been winning this battle of the bills however that doesn’t mean that the war is won.  You can be certain that the opposition will try to boost their efforts to derail this vital progress for upstate NY.  They will spread more misinformation than ever before and will ramp up their pressure on Albany to keep us from the resource we own on our land.  We will be ready to respond again for our cause when the time comes.
Focus Is Now On The DEC.
We appreciate the tediousness work of the DEC through their regulatory study and the professional manner in which they have conducted their efforts.  No other state environmental regulatory group in our nation has taken on the enormous load of research and study required to complete the comprehensive regulatory document that our DEC has been working on these last two years.  It’s time for the rest of the nation to see the excellent work of our DEC and see the successful regulations they have created now put into practice.  It’s time to release the SGEIS!
The next few months are going to be busy for our coalition.  We have a small window of time to make our coalition stronger by melding together more contiguous acres on our maps.  In the near future, you’ll be hearing about some very important coalition developments like …

  1. A coalition merging with ours’.  Give us two weeks and you’ll hear all the exciting details.  This merger is a definite win-win for both coalitions.
  2. Regional meetings aimed at appointing local coalition representatives as well as creating more contiguous areas on our maps.
  3. Booths established at our local county fairs to help fill in the gaps in our maps.  We’ll need your help to staff these booths.

Our true coalition strength is flexed through contiguous acres.  More than just land to drill, the industry also needs “Right Of Way” to get the gas out, which is why contiguous acres is what they are most interested in.  The above three priorities for the summer are designed to help us fill in our land blocks which will give us greater negotiation power when the time comes.
Be sure that we’ll keep you updated when the above plans are finalized.  If you have any other suggestions or topics that you feel we need to address, please contact us at chenangogas@gmail.com.  These are exciting days for our coalition.  Thanks for making our coalition what it is today!
Keep Up the Great Work,
Brian Conover
