URGENT - your action is needed!!

Dear Coalition Member:
Here is what the folks over at IOGA NY have to say about the threat of a moratorium that we face. This is a decisive moment! Make sure that you let our leaders konw that you want them to oppose the moratorium!
Tell Albany NO!!
Legislature’s return to Albany could bring new life to job killing moratorium bill
Your immediate help is needed.
The New York State Legislature has been called back to Albany by Governor Paterson on Monday, November 29.
Members of the Assembly are being pressured by opponents of natural gas exploration to pass A.11443-B (Sweeney)/S.8129-B (Thompson) – a bill that would enact a moratorium on ALL natural gas exploration using hydraulic fracturing.
As you may recall, the Senate passed this bill on August 3rd. If the Assembly bill is called up for consideration on the floor, it could pass! This measure is substantially flawed and, if eventually signed by the governor, would put an unnecessary and unfair burden on current operators and landowners across the state.
Clicking below will bring you to IOGA of NY’s web site. There you will find easy-to-navigate instructions to send a letter to your elected leaders at the State Capitol. http://www.capwiz.com/iogany/issues/alert/?alertid=15140161&PROCESS=Take+Action
It’s of vital importance that you TAKE ACTION NOW! This bill is a job killer, as it would:
(1) Bar existing safe drilling that has been going on for many years in New York; and
(2) Result in the loss of 5,000 jobs, because producing companies would go out of business and their employees would be forced out of work.
So please take a few minutes to take action today. Tell our lawmakers that developing the Marcellus Shale is safe for the environment and a sound investment in New York’s future.
