Neighboring Coalition Holds Meeting

All Invited To Attend ~ Wednesday, October 26th

The Unatego Coalition (Otsego County) has extended an invitation for all coalitions (Chenango, Otsego, Delaware and Broome counties) to come to a special meeting this Wednesday, October 26th, at 7PM at the Unatego High School (2641 State Highway 7 Otego NY 13825). Our coalition attorney, Scott Kurkoski, will be the keynote speaker and will be providing an insiders look into the current developments of the DEC and our state government as it relates to gas drilling. If you have the opportunity to attend, this meeting will yield some helpful information and is a positive way for you to show your support for responsible natural gas development in our state.

The Unatego Coalition is a good friend to the Central New York Landowner's Coalition. Along with the committee, Dick Downey provides positive leadership to the coalition and is very active to promote safe drilling in Otsego county. CNY and Unatego's coalition ranges overlap in Otsego county, causing us to share members in the towns of Butternuts, Unadilla and Otego, however, don't let that fool you into thinking we are in competition. Our sharing of information, partnering on common causes as well as routine phone calls and emails back and forth prove that we are wearing the same jersey to advance the same cause.

Do remember to vote next week in your local town elections. Many town ballots feature anti-gas candidates, hoping to gain a position to impede the progress of drilling in your area. Know your candidates and vote. Also, your coaltion committee is partnering with the Joint Landowner's Coalition in order to give recommendations as to how we can best comment on the SGEIS to the DEC. The comment period goes through December 12th with local public hearings coming in late November. Look for updates to these important developments.

Together We Accomplish More!
