To the editor: Drilling foes debate old questions

Executive director of Independent Oil & Gas Association of New York

080305gasheads1sdc.JPGBrad Gill, executive director of the Independent Oil & Gas Association of New York. The series of anti-drilling letters that ran April 21 demonstrate the inability or unwillingness of some people to educate themselves on the facts regarding natural gas exploration.

First, to call an advertisement by the American Petroleum Institute “propaganda,” is laughable in light of the misinformation being fed to these same fact-starved people by environmental groups who create this frenzy of fear and then ask for your donations to help make it go away.

Face of the coalition and letters to the editor needed

We need 20 or so people to write letters to the editor concerning pro drilling. If you are interested and can commit to doing this, please email Richard directly at Rlasky@frontiernet.net with your telephone contact.

We are also looking for 5 people who are having a difficult time holding on and need the gas money to survive. These people will be interviewed for a movie and it will be a very very important step to get publicity against the tree huggers. We need these 5 asap.

We have created a new tool to streamline sending emails to elected officials. By filling out the form with your full name, and city/state, it will generate a series of links with the email addresses, and custom letters created for each of the NYS officials. All you have to do is click on the official's names to load the email (it will show up in your email client), and click send.

At a public forum in DeWitt, Syracuse University hydrology professor Don Siegel thought he had presented enough unbiased, scientific information to prove that drilling for natural gas in New York would benefit the state far more than it might hurt.
